Overview
Located on Nilachal Hills in western Guwahati by the Brahmaputra River, Maa Kamakhya Temple is a prominent Hindu shrine dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. Recognized as one of the oldest and most sacred Shakti Peethas, the temple complex houses several smaller temples, including the 10 Mahavidyas: Bhuvaneshvari, Bagalamukhi, Chinnamasta, Tripura Sundari, Tara, Kali, Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Matangi, and Kamala. Tripura Sundari, Matangi, and Kamala are inside the main temple, while the other seven are located separately around Nilachal Hills..
Day-Wise Program
Guwahati Arrival (Day 1)
After arrival and hotel transfer in Guwahati, freshen up and head to Kalashetra, where Assamese life and traditions are beautifully depicted. Visit Basishtha Ashram, then spend time exploring Fancy Bazaar and the local handicraft market. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Trip to Kamakhya Temple and Guwahati sightseeing (Day 2)
After breakfast, visit Kamakhya Temple. It is recommended to obtain a special pass to avoid waiting. Later, take a ferry to Umananda Temple, located on Peacock Island, the smallest river island in the world. Continue to Nabagraha Temple and Sukreshwar Ghat. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing river cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Tour ends (Day 3)
Morning after breakfast, visit the sacred Bhimashankara Temple, one of India’s 12 Jyotirlingas. Afterwards, transfer to Guwahati Airport for onward journey.
Paro - Thimphu (Day 4)
After breakfast, transfer to your hotel in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Enjoy a full day of sightseeing. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Thimphu - Punakha (Day 5)
After breakfast, transfer to Punakha, Bhutan’s former capital. Visit the breathtaking Dochula Pass and explore iconic landmarks like Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten and Punakha Dzong. Night halt in Punakha.
Punakha- Namchi- Ravangla via Phuentsholing (Day 6)
After breakfast, transfer to Phuentsholing. Here, switch to a Sikkim-registered vehicle and continue your drive to Namchi. Overnight stay in Namchi or Ravangla, as accommodations in Namchi are limited.
Namchi - Sightseeing - Night stay - Ravangla (Day 7)
After breakfast, visit the Char Dham, scenic tea estates, and the monastery. Overnight stay in Ravangla.
Namchi- Gangtok (Day 8)
Start the day with breakfast and proceed to Gangtok. Depending on your arrival time, explore the city in the evening. Night stay in Gangtok.
Gangtok - Zuluk via Nathula (Day 9)
