Travel Route Plan
Day 1: Guwahati – Nagoan (3hrs / 121 km approx)
Arrival at Guwahati Airport, meet our representative, and drive to Nagaon for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Nagaon – Shibsagar (6hrs / 243 km approx)
After breakfast, head to Sivasagar—earlier known as Rangpur—the cultural heart of the Ahoms. Explore the renowned Rang Ghar and the impressive Talatal Ghar, originally built with 7 levels, including 3 underground floors later sealed by the British. Overnight in Sivasagar.
Day 3: Shibsagar – Mon ( Longwa Village) (5hrs / 128 km approx)
After breakfast, visit the historic Kareng Ghar, also known as the Garhgaon Palace—an outstanding example of Ahom architecture. Later, continue your journey to Mon in Nagaland, homeland of the Konyak Nagas, once famed as fierce warriors and known for their headhunting traditions in ancient times. Overnight stay at Mon.
Day 4: Excursion on the Longwa Village
A local travel guide will join you for the tour. Overnight stay in Longwa.
Day 5: Longwa (Mon) – Mokokchung (7hr 30min / 183 km approx)
Early in the morning, proceed directly to Mokokchung for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Mokokchung – Kohima (4hrs / 144 km approx)
Start early with a visit to Ungma Village, the largest and oldest Ao tribal village in Nagaland. Afterwards, transfer to Kohima for your overnight stay.
Day 7: Kohima- Horn bill Festival
After breakfast, proceed to Kisama Village, located 12 km from Kohima. This Heritage Village has been recreated to resemble a traditional Naga settlement, offering an immersive glimpse into the past. At the foothills of a majestic peak lies the venue of the renowned Hornbill Festival, where you can experience the vibrant traditions and ethnic culture of the Naga tribes. In the evening, enjoy the lively night carnival in Kohima, featuring festive lights, bustling crowds, and stalls selling everything from Christmas décor to freshly grilled barbecue. After the celebration, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Kohima –Khonoma – Asias first Green Village – Hornbill Festival-Dimapur ( 70Km/02Hours)
Begin the day with breakfast and proceed to Khonoma, Asia’s first Green Village, located a short distance from Kohima. This heritage village is noted for its environmentally conscious lifestyle and its storied past as a stronghold of Naga warriors. Afterwards, visit the Hornbill Festival, where you can immerse yourself in Naga culture through music, dance, crafts, and colourful costumes. In the evening, transfer to Dimapur for an overnight stay.
Day 9: Dimapur – Guwahati ( 260 Km/ 5-6 Hours)
Early in the morning, depart for Guwahati. En route, visit the ancient ruins of the Kachari Kingdom in Dimapur. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 10: Departure
End of the journey. Proceed to Guwahati Airport for onward travel.
