Travel Route Plan

Day 1: Guwahati- Shillong (110 kms /3 hours)

After arrival at Guwahati, meet your representative and transfer to Shillong, the ‘Abode of Clouds’. Midway halt at Nongpoh for tea, coffee, or snacks, and visit Umiam Lake on the way. Collect remaining group members from Shillong Airport and check in at your hotel. Spend the evening visiting Wards Lake and shopping at Police Bazaar. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunjee (64 kms / 2 hours) Cherrapunjee Holiday

After breakfast, proceed to Cherrapunjee—famous for its breathtaking scenery and year-round mist. Explore Noh-ka-likai Falls, Eco Park, Seven Sisters Falls, Cherrapunjee View Point, and the fascinating caves nearby. En route, stop by the beautiful Elephant Falls. Overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Day 3: Hiking to Umkar Root Bridge (10 minutes walk) – Interaction with the Khasi Tribes

Today after breakfast, visit the Umkar Single-Decker Root Bridge. Only a brief 10-minute walk from the main road, the route is easy and suitable for elderly travelers and children. Enjoy a cultural interaction with the people of Siej village before returning. Night halt in Cherrapunjee.

Day 4: Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong- Dawki ( 90 kms / 3 hours) Shillong

After early breakfast, drive towards Mawlynnong, known for its unmatched cleanliness and natural charm. Explore the village, trek to the Riwai Living Root Bridge, and see the unique Balancing Rock formation. Proceed to Dawki for a delightful boat ride on the emerald-clear Umngot River. By evening, return to Shillong. Night stay in Shillong.

Day 5: Shillong– Nagoan (5 hrs / 220 kms approx)

Today after breakfast, proceed to Nagaon with a scheduled visit to Rang Thali Village. This charming village is famous for preserving the heritage of Assamese jewellery-making. Interact with the artisans and witness their remarkable craftsmanship. Arrive in Nagaon by evening for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Nagaon – Kohima (5 hours/ 220 kms)

After breakfast, proceed to Kohima, the vibrant capital of Nagaland. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Kohima.

Day 7: Kohima – Hornbill Festival

After breakfast, proceed to Kisama Heritage Village, located 12 km from Kohima. Designed to resemble a traditional Naga settlement, the village offers a glimpse into the ancient lifestyle and culture of the Naga tribes. Here, you can experience the vibrant Hornbill Festival, showcasing ethnic dances, music, crafts, and traditions. In the evening, enjoy the lively night carnival in Kohima, where the streets come alive with lights, food stalls, Christmas décor, and local handicrafts. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay

Day 8: Kohima – Khonoma – Asias First Green Village – Hornbill Festival- Dimapur (70 kms / 02 hours)

Begin the day with breakfast and travel to Khonoma—Asia’s first Green Village, renowned for its sustainable lifestyle and its courageous stand against British rule. After exploring the village, continue to the Hornbill Festival where colourful Naga traditions come alive through performances, attire, and local crafts. In the evening, proceed to Dimapur for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Dimapur – Guwahati (260 kms – 5 to 6 hours)

After breakfast, complete your check-out formalities and travel to Guwahati. En route, take a short break to visit the historic Kachari ruins. On arrival, check in to your hotel for the night.

Day 10: Departure

Tour ends, drop at Guwahati Airport.
